The job of the bookkeeper is very basic, however training is needed. Bookkeepers also need to be decent with the computer, as most programs you will use will be on the computer.
In order to be a bookkeeper, you need to be an overall calm, patient, and computer-oriented person. Sometimes the work of a bookkeeper can be very stressful. For example, if you make a mistake, you can be backed up for hours just trying to fix the mistake. You need to be calm and patient, usually because you are behind a desk most, or all of your day. You need to be one of those people who do not mind sitting behind a desk all day.
In conclusion, a bookkeeper works and trains harder than anyone may have thought. The training alone can take up to 3 months, totaling many hours or hard work. Once you have been a bookkeeper for more than 8 months, you are no longer considered a rookie, according to most professionals. The first tip to becoming a bookkeeper is; become computer friendly! Computers will be your best friends in the job field.
